Tomatoes

I was totally mad this year! All my tomato plants decided to do there best work in October! You know just before there frost!
I was like are you kidding me!! So we started researching how to get them to ripen quick. Well too late I found if you pull every leaf, blossom and fruit you don't want off they will ripen. Just in a day I had some ripening but frost was coming that weekend.

Sooo... We picked every tomato washed them all. If they were turning red we placed them on the window sill or even pink. But if still green we got a Rubbermaid line with newspaper and placed them in the box in the garage every 2 days j got check and hat do you know they are ripening!! We placed them in garage cause temp needs to be 50-60 degrees. I have had a few each time. I usually transfer to windowsill. I read you could have them for 3 weeks to 3 months. So could have tomatoes in to January. Umm heck yeah!!!
These were all green when I started a week ago!!

Last week we made our own seasoning mixes. We used some spices getting old, some we grew, some we bought. A few of the recipes I doubled and quadrupled. We made Ranch dressing mix, Onion soup mix, Italian Dressing mix and taco seasoning. I just used old mayo containers we had.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost

I received Neutrogena Hydro Boost from Influenster vox box I received complimentary to review. I liked it at first seemed to really hydrate my skin. After a while though I felt like my pores got clogged. Maybe I was making too much oil and too mixed didn't groove. I got acne. So I stopped using and got better. I feel like I could use this after being in the sun or swimming where skin dries out and needs some hydration.

Getting out dry erase marker

So, the kids were using dry erase markers for there letters. Well Gavin went crazy and between 2 days got it on 3 pieces of clothing. Including drawing all over his sister! I tried all the stuff I found on goggle to remove and my normal pre treatment. In the end one thing worked! Murphys Oil soap.
So, first what you need:
Murphys oils soap it was under $4
Blue dawn
Scrub brush/ tooth brush
Paper towel
Rag
First take white cloth or Papertowel under stain
Then soak rag in Murphys oil and Dav.
You will need to keep moving paper as marker absorbs onto it.
You may then use your nail or brush to kinda brush it out some more cause it gets in the grooves of the fabric.
Keeping movie towel. Rinse and do again if need be.
Then apply blue dawn (you can even add some peroxide for good measure).
Then wash as normal.
Check before placing in dryer to make sure removed. All colors removed kids had on, black was still a little on shirt but barely noticeable
I am very impressed I was so sad a frozen shirt and curious George was ruined.

Valentine's sun catchers

Kids and I decided to make sum catchers to hang in the kitchen. I wanted to use tissue paper. Everything I found said contact paper. Well not a common item in this house lol.
What we used:
Wax paper
Construction paper
Modge podge
Tissue paper cut in small squares
Glue
Scissors
Paint brush
Ribbon (to hang)

First I cut wax paper and folded in half about the size of piece of paper.
Then we applied modge podge with sponge brush over one half of the wax sheet (we left folded in half.
Next kids applied tissue paper as they wish. Quickly some spots I had to reapply modge podge. (I'm sure glue would work too)

Then once kids were done we then applied modge podge all over tissue paper lightly. And folded wax paper over on top of tissue paper and pressed!
We let it dry.
Next we cut hearts out of construction paper and glued to wax paper I used a glue stick for this just press on it.
Then cut the excess wax paper off.
Next glue ribbon on top of heart.
Allow glue to dry and then hang and enjoy!

Orange cleaner

We started this week making our own cleaner! We took a mason jar added orange peels and covered in vinegar I'm amazed.
You could use 2-3 full size oranges or a hand full of halos. I kept adding and covering with vinegar to cover until we hit the top. We will let it sit for 2 weeks. Also shake occasionally when you think about it.  Once ready to use can dilute with water to 50% and you have a nice fresh, safe and affordable cleaner  for your home.
I also got the plastic lids for Mason jars so I can reuse and wash.

Here is our cleaner fermenting :)

You could even try with lemons or lines.
